Prime Rib Roast
Perfect Prime Rib Roast. Absolutely delicious and simple recipe to make a tender and juicy Prime Rib Roast. Elegant dinner for those special occasions. Secret is to braise first and then a slow cooking to your perfect temperature.I like to serve with creamed horseradish sauce: Recipe below in notes I love to pair with King Crab Legs and my asparagus cheese tart.
Ingredients
- 1 8-9 Prime Rib Roast approx 7 ribs
- 3 tbsp Kosher Salt
- 2 tbsp Pepper
Instructions
- Set roast out to come to room temperature approx. 2 1/2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 200° Braise roast on all sides in hot skillet until nicely browned. Place in a large roasting pan with wire rack. Generously salt and pepper all sides. Pour 1 cup of water in pan below wire rack. Place roast in oven until thermometer reads 129° for medium rare and 140° for medium. Cooking time is approximately 3 1/2 hours depending on size of roast. Remove from oven and cover with aluminum foil to rest for 20 minutes.

Creamed Horseradish Sauce
- 1/4 cup whipping cream
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 3 Tablespoons Horseradish
- 1/8 tsp salt
